Re-purposed Rustic Lampshade

I've been all about lights lately. Chandelier or lamps with unique like covers: metal, wood, birdcage, basket. Pretty much anything unique and at best something re-purposed for the use.

Kirk and I were out Garage Sailing over the weekend and chanced upon an estate sale at this big ol' house tucked at the end of a cul-de-sac. Ohhh the knick knacks and glorious items from an avid collector of ...well, just about everything. It was exciting to see so many cool possessions once loved and in their prime.

The favorite find of this particular sale was this old, dirty, bottomless basket. Several broken strands, a spider or two nestled within... it was perfect! And better yet, it was FREE!

So I embarked on the restoration of this ol' basket and transformed it into a lampshade for the standing light in our bedroom. It was such a fun project : Kirk found it, I created it, and now it illuminates our bedroom!

Looking forward to the next project :)
